I’m the last guy to applaud a Jesus freak. But if that’s the only way he can kick the other habit, so be it. Never mind what comes out of his mouth, I’ve got a hard time watching any athlete…or…for that matter…anyone else…all inked up. Of course, back in the age of the dinosaurs, I was a hippie, so I’ve got no room to get on anyone’s case for “looking weird”. But I still do. But none of that really matters. Chances are, for some, maybe even more than half of the contract, Josh Hamilton is great, and the Angels lineup is great. And the Angels can trade one or two outfielders for more pitching, and maybe even sign some more of it, as well.

Torii’s complaint was about the Angels telling him something that wasn’t true. They don’t have to tell their players everything, but what they do say should be the truth. That’s what any employee wants from an employer (well, besides money, that is!).

I see what you’re doing there, Inda, but my mind is on higher things. Try this on:

1. My number one likely opponent has a very talented lefty in an otherwise righty lineup.
2. I don’t really need hitting that much, but he is very good and I have money to burn (theoretically).
3. I sign this guy away and my opponent is weaker. I’m not that much better but he is a lot weaker.
4. I’ll think about the details later.

I hope Torii plays for a few more years with the Tigers. Nice guy, PED/drug free, how can you root against that?

Thankfully, it doesn’t help or hinder the AL West one bit.

The Angels taking Hamilton away from the Rangers hurts the Rangers if he’s remotely productive.

He should be pretty well padded in the Halos line up.

The only negative is the bandwagon is about to fill back up and the guy sitting in way better seat than mine cant name 1/2 the infield.

Money was a lot tighter when the Angels were still technically in the running for Greinke. Money got a lot less tight when he signed with the Dodgers. By that time, Torii was gone. He could have waited.
