If Toronto gets R.A. Dickey, Brian Cashman can kiss goodbye to any WS hopes he ever had. We all saw how strong the Orioles became near the end of the 2012 season. They almost won the ALE instead of NY. I don’t think Canada and the Jays deserve R.A. Dickey, but if I were Toronto I would get Dickey and trade him to to Baltimore just to see how high Cashman can jump off his seat in agony. With Dickey, Baltimore would become a real powerhouse. Yeah, I hope the Angels can swing a trade for Dickey. Would the Mets have any interest in Kendrys Morales? I wouldn’t be opposed to including him in a trade for an established starter like Dickey.

I can’t see a team moving a lot of top young talent for Dickey. But a fourth or fifth starter in Toronto would be a good fit for Dickey.

That would be a horrible trade for the Mets. Bourjos is an all glove CF with little offensive upside, and Trumbo is all-bat with no control of the strike zone and no position. Both of those guys for Dickey would be a horrible deal for the Mets.

And I wuv you too, Sweetness and Light. You’ve just managed nearly to lower yourself to the same rhetorical level as our recently inert pal Pwotywuss. Nearly. But even that still takes some doing.

However, we Macondoans haven’t exactly given our love to this team. And its various owners have done just about everything they could think of to keep from breaking our hearts – instead of ever giving us time to fall in love with our players, they just prefer to ship them out and to humiliate and piss us off. It never fails. Ergo, we don’t suffer nearly as much as outsiders observing us might think we do. Their misconceptions are especially remarkable considering that with so few of us to piss and moan in the first place, we’ve been able to give the impression of pain at all.

The Mutts ownership, on the other hand, seem to have been influenced at very young ages by that classic National Enquirer headline, “I Cut Out Her Heart and Stomped On It!”
