Downtown is great. There’s so much going on there now. Night and day different than 10 years ago. But as in most things, there’s good and bad with any place to live. Michigan will be much more appealing to you when SoCal runs out of fresh water.

CA is ok to visit. I couldn’t get past the traffic, smog, and all the people(too many)

As for a baseball player, they are there for the best 8 months of the year(and they’re somewhere else half the time) I don’t see that as a reason not to sign in De twa.

I lived in MI for 13 years (Trammel, Whitiker, Parrish).
I lived in So. Cal. for 16 years (the rest have been in Northern California.)

Michigan folk are awesome down to earth midwest folk.
Michigan has wonderful summers.
But can’t compare to So. Cal. weather. Constant good weather, no humidity, no (rarely) mosquitoes.
If you wan’t snow, you can drive to it. You have ocean, desert, mountains. Simply drive to them.

I still sometimes miss MI for some strange reasons: Good midwest folks, Fireflies, thunder & lightning. Shooting stars. The way it smells after it rains…

I’ve thought for a long time that Procello was an NL pitcher. I do think the Tigers should trade him. But, I wouldnt do anything to help the Angels get better if I were DD.

I lived in MI for 25 years, there are some nice peeps and great parts 40 plus miles from the city, now live in SoCal. Both are nice but its like a decent looking neighbor vs Scarlet Jo.

Detroit, (not MI as a whole) truly is the left armpit of the USA and currently imploding.

If you can stomach it, more power to you.

With the Tigers having Berry as a 4th outfielder, and seemingly a desire to give Kobernus a shot in the infield, I would imagine they are shooting for a bullpen arm. I am not sure the Angels have what they are looking for, unless they really think Porcello is going to really break out and are willing to overpay for him.

Plus, both of these teams have to be 1 and 2 as far as AL power-rankings. Not sure if either team wants to help their biggest obstacle for a WS run.

I couldn’t imagine leaving Michigan to live there. Half the time I lived in CA, I spent stuck on the 5(or stuck inside avoiding the smog)

I’d hate to see Kendrys go, he was killing it before getting injured, give him another year to snap back.

Detroit has a decent team and great fans but I can’t imagine going from living in SoCal to that doom and gloom weather.

Poor guy, where would they even play him with fielder being locked in at 1B as he can’t play anywhere else? Platoon DH?

Go for Bourjos, younger and more defensively versatile.

Uninformed sources indicate that the Angels were zoning in on the possibility of a trade for Arod. That trade concept was placed on hold pending Arod’s return to health. Unidentifiable sources indicate that they were willing to offer Vernon Wells straight up for Arod. Not sure if the uninformed unidentifiable sources were unimpeachable or peachable.
