Why does Hamilton want a luxury suite? Is he planning to spend THAT much time on the disabled list? Is he planning to get booed so much that he doesn’t want his family seated in the family section with the other players’ families? Does he have 15 friends per game that he wants to entertain in style even though he hasn’t lived in Anaheim? Why negotiate for the luxury suite as opposed to more cash or another perq of equivalent value?

I’m glad my Yankees are trying to be financially responsible now. It sucks when your players start to get up there in age and start to slow down while still making millions from ownerships desire to buy championships. If by pushing 40 you mean he’s 32 and will be 33 in a month, then guess I’ll be pushing 40 in a year too. And shit my wife isn’t going to like hearing that in a few months as well.

That makes me envision other players sharing rooms and the invitation-to-spring-training-players-that-made-the-opening-day-roster sleeping on the floors of more established player’s rooms.

I seem to remember a clause in Matt Holliday’s contract which stipulated a hotel suite when the team traveled.
