I chuckle at the nickname "Sundial" for a slow runner. As in, instead of using a stopwatch to time a player's run time to first, scouts use a sundial.

In May, I attended an Angels game against Toronto the night after Weaver's no-no. For each of Morales' AB's, Brett Lawrie shifted from 3B to about 230 feet away from home plate between first and second.

Sure enough, during his last AB, Kendrys hit a two-hopper to Lawrie. Without a hightened sense of urgency, Lawrie casually threw out Sundial by three steps.

The ankle is still a major problem. Morales was having a breakout 2010 season before that fateful GS celebration. Any team doing their due dilligence should be scared off by his lack of mobility. If fielders can retire him in such a fashion, with apparently very little worry of him slashing a single to the wide open opposite field, it has got to diminish his value.

When in traffic, behind a slow driver, I often say to myself, "let's go, Sundial".

I forgot all about Kendreys. Yeah, and if he ISN'T traded away, what a stud hitting lineup THAT is (mind you it was pretty damn fearsome without mentioning Kendreys). The Halos are probably thinking that the only thing they want in return for him is pitching and good pitching at that. The Rays could use him and might have what the Halos want...on second thought: bugger that! Lets hope he goes elsewhere, IF he goes. Last thing I need is for someone to partner up with Longoria to mash in the AL Beast. The Beav do NOT need more trouble like Kendreys.
