Seeing as good pitching is the number one predictor of a successful postseason team, I think it’s safe to say we’ll find out how good Sandy Rosario really is if the Giants stop the carousel and actually see what he’s got. If they keep him, chances are he’s not bad. If they don’t, caveat emptor. And yeah, if this sounds like me elevating the Giants’ pitching braintrust to immortal heights, well…sure seems like they’ve known, and will continue to know exactly what they’re doing.

My prediction is that the Giants eventually waive him and then manage to reclaim Eli Whiteside.

Bautista had the record for most times traded from in one season, I think. I believe its 5 times in one season back in the dark days of 2004. That’s the only team change record i can think of.

I think this is different from being traded, though. It deserves its own record/award. I can’t think of a suitable name for the “claimed off waivers” award but the trophy can be a blender still in its box with well used gift wrap paper on the outside. One more time claimed off waivers and he gets the trophy and a free shirsey of his team choice at any MLB store.
