Ross really crushes lefties (wOBA .391, wRC+ 141), who only throw 25% of innings in MLB, and hits like an all-glove SS against righties (wOBA .317, wRC+ 92).

People loved to make fun of the RS signing of Gomes, but he and Ross are the exact same offensive player, all the way down to having nearly identical splits: Gomes vs RHP: wOBA .385, wRC+ 140, vs LHP: wOBA .318, wRC+ 93. The only real difference is that Ross is a little better defender….but he’s not 1 year and $19M better that Gomes….if anything, this should make the Gomes signing look like a stroke of genius, because the RS actually plan to use him as a platoon player rather than an everyday player.
