Showalter is one of the best in the business and since arriving at Baltimore he’s proven that he’s still got it. I expect that the O’s are going to regress a bit inasmuch as they won more then their share of close games. But, if they can continue to improve their personnel they are going to make the AL East miserable for their competition.

Melvin managed a team that has been competitive. The o’s have been moribund for a generation. What Melvin did was impressive. What showalter did was miraculous esp considering the injuries, overall lack of real talent and the astounding lack of depth in the farm.

Buck is one of the half dozen managers that can really make a difference. Give the man whatever he want and promise him whatever you need to get him to stay.

Certainly a very smart move by the O’s to keep Showalter they would be stupid to let him go.
