I think a package of Ruf would actually be a good starting point. Haha. You are so right about Phillies fans, of which I am one, they think a package of 3 twenty five to thirty year old career minor leaugers will get them Stanton. These are also the same fans that do not know that he changed his name.

Are you guys serious??? This sounds pretty fancy but the Marlins don’t care about rebuilding or improving the team. There is only one goal and that is: How much money can Loria pocket in any deal. Loria just discovered something that works better than the stock market. He will continue to make lots of money at the expense of a bunch of naive Marlins fans who will fall time and again for it. I used to be a fan until I had my epiphany. Come on guys, you can’t be serious!!!

You’re too quick to call other people dumb when you go on to say that Philly has “a ton of young prospects years away” as if that would suffice for the biggest trade piece since Miguel Cabrera. Then you say Loria is “not going for true value anyway”…..umm….what in the hell does that mean? A) Loria is not the person that decides a prospects value. B) Just because they made a questionable trade doesn’t mean theyre just gonna give away their best players for a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds.

So instead of being a typical Philadelphia fan, cross your fingers they have enough in the farm to land Alfonso Soriano at a cut rate.

Marlins/Mariners: Stanton for RHP Taijuan Walker, LHP Danny Hutzon, C Mike Zunino, and 2B Nick Franklin.

That’s the only deal I would accept right now for Stanton. Two top of the rotation pitchers, a catcher with Buster Posey type upside, a top of the line-up 2B. All other offers would be inferior.

Not even the Rangers could offer anything this appealing. I love Mike Olt, but I’m not as high on Jurkison Profar, and Martin Perez. I think Profar is vastly overrated, while Perez is a #3 starter at best. They could also offer Neftali Feliz but he’s coming off Tommy John surgery….

No one is picking on the Phillies. We are saying that it is common knowledge that they have a bad farm. Your boy Ruben has gutted it. What exactly does “a ton a good prospects years away” mean? If Miami deals Stanton it will be for elite prospects like Jurickson Profar. And he would be just the start of the package. I would imagine something like Profar, Odor and Buckle as the base of the package.

Philly has one of the worst minor league systems in MLB, that isn’t hate, just fact. Also, Miami is NOT looking for players that are years away, any prospect that is years away is risky and have relatively little value. No one that knows anything thinks Philly has a good farm system right now.

To all the Phillies haters saying they don’t have the prospects to get Stanton if they wanted to, you’re either dumb, don’t know anything about the Phillies, or both. They have a ton of young prospects years away like Florida needs and wants in return and they have guys who could play now as well. They could definitely make it happen with Loria, he’s not going for true value anyhow, as we recently seen. I doubt they trade him within the division IF they trade him at all anyways. I would send him to another division, preferably the AL.

Yes, it’s very farfetched that you could get Stanton for that weak of a package. I wrote earlier that it took two first rounders that were top 10 prospects nationally, along with a good catcher prospect and 3 decent pitching prospects, and the willingness to take on Dontrelle Willis’ contract, in order to get Miguel Cabrera.

You haven’t proposed a package even close to what the Tigers gave up, and Stanton is probably a more valuable trade chip given his age and the and the additional team-controlled years.

I don’t think so,in a perfect world the Mets keep d’Arnaud and Wheeler. And to build the trade around Neise is certainly interesting,and considering the Mets no longer have a place for Flores,it’s ideal we move him. Does it sound farfetched if out of the 2(Wheeler,d’Arnaud),we only give up Wheeler in a proposed trade for Stanton?

I’m a Mets fan. That offer is ridiculous. The Mets would need to put dArnaud and Wheeler in the offer. Mejia and Den Dekker are garbage.
