The Cubs are out on Yuniesky Betancourt

Yuniesky Betancourt said he expects to have a major league deal soon. One of the teams who was considering him was the Cubs, who had visions of placing Betancourt at third base.

Justin Bopp of MLB Daily Dish reports that that isn’t happening, however, now that Ian Stewart has re-signed with the team.

Betancourt hit .228/.256/.400 with seven homers last season and has long been a defensive liability at short, even if he does find himself on highlight reels with the occasional spectacular play a couple times a year. Now that a team who was thinking about him at third base is out of the picture, it may be a bit harder for him to find a home.

As bad as the Cubs were last year and figure to be this year, they still show some sign of competence in not considering this guy. He is totally useless. There are far better candidates for the last spot on the bench, even for a last place team like the Cubs.

The entire state of Wisconsin is laughing at you Cubbies. Good luck with this one…though now you have a moron @short who routinely looks in the crowd and not at the batter. And maybe Yuneski, ha ha ha ha ha.
