I think the chances are pretty good that Bautista will fully recover from this injury.

The guy is swing happy and he loves to crush them. He could take half a season out himself over doing it. Still, glad to see this. He’ll bring that average back up for this year. No need to try and do it all anymore. He’s got a good team around him, hitting all over the place, and he can afford to be nice and patient at the plate again. Between him and E5 I expect they’ll be neck and neck for HR leader in the division at least. With all that OBP ahead of them in the lineup…well lets just say things are looking pretty optimistic for some run support for Morrow, Dickey, Buehrle, Johnson & Romero.

Fuld had a similar problem that required surgery. Fuld contacted Bautista and put him in touch with the surgeon who operated on him. I understand that the technique used by that surgeon is more effective that the technique used by other specialists.
