A look at the wall adjustments being made at Petco Park

Jan 6, 2013, 10:39 AM EDT

Tom Garfinkel, president and CEO of the Padres, tweeted the following picture last week of the ongoing construction on Petco Park’s outfield walls. That black outer fence below is for construction purposes only. The new walls are represented by that large concrete barrier that can be seen most prominently in right field.

Is that what San Diego in January looks like? Good for you.

It’s actually been really cold here lately, below 40 in the morning and the high not much above 60. Freezing cold!

        Wow, it looks so green.

For a second, I thought you meant 40 below. I would choose “under” for that situation or just say it was 39 degrees. Freezing cold is 32 degrees F by the way! I guess 40 is freezing for you spoiled folks.

It has been cold, but it’s all relative.

It’s been freezing ass cold here in Phoenix too. One morning it was 31 when I got up, about 7:30. Topping out in the mid 60′s.
        Come on summer!

It’ll still take a good poke to get the ball out of there, especially to right center.

True, but it won’t be as much of a Death Valley situation for power hitters. They’re not trying to make Petco into Coors, they’re simply making it less hitter-unfriendly.

Looking good! I can’t wait until the season starts to find out if the Padres’ offense can take advantage.

Good now the away players could hit more homeruns cause we sure dont have true power hitters. So now we lose 5 to 1 instead of 2 to 1.
