Justin Verlander is eager for spring training to start

Jan 7, 2013, 12:30 PM EDT

Still 37 days until pitchers and catchers report, but that’s not stopping Justin Verlander:

Best part: the dog has a better smile than Verlander does.

Pitcher & catchers report in 37 days, superheroes arrive a little bit earlier.

      Hell yeah!

I want to hate this guy, but look at that dog. He’s a grinnin’ fool. Not unlike the human in that picture. Can’t hate on anyone with a smiling dog. 37 days seems like a long time, still. I may not make it….

Couldn’t agree more Cur. If you meet someone’s dog, you’ll learn more about what kind of person their owner is in 10 minutes than if you spend weeks with the person. Based on that photo alone, Verlander must be a good guy.

I will second paperlions. That is one fine looking happy dog. It looks like your average run of the mill mutt too. (I love mutts.)

I love dogs even more than I love baseball.

Why is he eager for it to start back up? Dude’s dating Kate Upton, he needs to enjoy this free time with her.

      God god in heaven…

Whoever thumbed this down is a douchenozzle. Send me your name so I can put you on my list.

        Also, boobz.

        Finally, sweet.

    • historiophiliac - Jan 7, 2013 at 12:54 PM

Seriously, dude? Why do you think he’s in Florida already? Yeah, definitely not to play golf and hang w/ Kate…and escape the snow.

Am I looking at a picture of a private jet? Is a dog getting better travel treatment than me?

    Dammit.

  4. jwbiii - Jan 7, 2013 at 12:56 PM

So he likes his dog. That looks like a private charter plane, so he doesn’t put his pooch in the cargo bay. I like him even more now.

The guys makes 20 million a year it will probably get Mr Illitch make it closer to 25 million a year in two seasons, I think he can afford a private charter for himself and his dog.

Was Kate Upton in the picture?

Anyone else see the baseball tag on the dog’s collar? Very cool.

    • cur68 - Jan 7, 2013 at 2:31 PM

Doesn’t everyone have a baseball tag on the their dog? If they don’t I suggest they are neglecting their dog.

      • historiophiliac - Jan 7, 2013 at 2:37 PM

I miss my dog. :( Leaving this post now…

  7. dracko19 - Jan 7, 2013 at 2:34 PM

@jm91rs – who do you think took the picture?

    • cur68 - Jan 7, 2013 at 2:36 PM

In my mind that’s why the dog is smiling.
