The Mets checked in on Justin Upton, Jason Kubel

Nothing is coming of it, but at least the Mets haven’t called it an offseason: Jon Heyman reports that the Mets checked in with the Dbacks on Justin Upton and Jason Kubel.

Heyman says there was no fit, however, with the asking price for Upton being too high and there being no real matchup for Kubel. For what it’s worth, other teams talking to the Dbacks about Upton have found that they’re asking the moon for him, so it’s not at all surprising.

Interesting to at least see the Mets interested, however.

Until the Mets check in on new ownership, I’m not interested.

I have no problem believing the asking price is to high or 1 of these guys would already be a Philly.

HOW is Kubel not a fit in LF hitting in front of Wright?

Mets Braves Texas Seattle San Diego notice the we want Upton but refuse to give up shit to get him.
