Atari

I don’t play many video games and I don’t vote in many fan polls, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel the same way. And if you don’t, you can cast your vote for the cover boy for “MLB ’12 The Show” over at MLB.com starting today.

The candidates: Buster PoseyMatt KempRyan BraunAndrew McCutchenBryce HarperCC Sabathia, and Miguel Cabrera.

No Craig Kimbrel? Weak.

    Kate Upton!

    • historiophiliac - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:42 AM

As an aside, Verlander tweeted yesterday that he had arrived in Lakeland already. I don’t care if it is so he can hang w/ Kate. It just puts us that much closer to spring training! Waaaaahoooooooo!!!!!

  2. RickyB - Jan 7, 2013 at 10:55 AM

No Mike Trout??!! Now that’s weak!

    • historiophiliac - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:43 AM

They should do a Miggy cover and a Trout cover and then everyone can vote w/ their purchase.

      • southpaw2k - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:51 AM

If there was a Cabrera vs Trout vote for the cover and Cabrera won, Keith Law would write some nonsense diatribe over how much of a travesty that would be.

      • historiophiliac - Jan 7, 2013 at 12:50 PM

Craig can then troll writers who bother to weigh in on the MVP cover purchase “debate,” a whole new generation of Miggy “voters,” and Phillies fans.

      • nbjays - Jan 7, 2013 at 9:36 PM

Wouldn’t be the first time there were multiple covers. Last year’s game had A-Gon on the cover for U.S. buyers and Joey Bats on the cover for us Canucks.

Craig was a little disappointed to find that Andrelton Simmons’ junk was not an option

  4. darthicarus - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:09 AM

I’m going to pretend I’m a HoF voter & cast a blank ballot. Take that SONY!

  5. cosanostra71 - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:11 AM

    No Mike Trout? Lame!

  6. number42is1 - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:23 AM

How does one “thumb down” Kate Upton? (insert dirty joke here)

    • El Bravo - Jan 7, 2013 at 2:09 PM

It’s the same as thumbing her up, but you simply flip Ms. Upton 180 degrees.

      • number42is1 - Jan 7, 2013 at 2:10 PM

        ZING!

  7. hotkarlsandwich - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:35 AM

    Jeff Francoeur? Please!

  8. jgraening - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:36 AM

    Dog Fister gets my vote.

  9. tc4306 - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:52 AM

CC over David Price is lame too

  10. paint771 - Jan 7, 2013 at 11:54 AM

    RA Dickey.

Can’t believe that one’s not an option. Cy Young, the most talked about player in the sport last year.

  15. albertmn - Jan 7, 2013 at 3:09 PM

Would love to see McCutchen. Long suffering Pirates fans need something they can rally around. But, I haven’t ever played that game, and don’t care enough to go vote.

  16. coryfor3 - Jan 7, 2013 at 3:58 PM

    No Trout seems odd.

  17. Tick - Jan 7, 2013 at 5:43 PM

Do fans of Mike Trout do anything besides whine about him not getting enough love? WE GET IT! HE’S A GREAT PLAYER! SHUT UP ALREADY!

  18. brewcitybummer - Jan 7, 2013 at 6:10 PM

I personally want to see Delmon Young’s fat face every time I turn on my playstation. It makes me laugh every time.
