Yep. One of the great ballpark PA player intros of all time. The coolest thing about it was the way he said "elevenEnzo" as if it was all one word, then paused before starting the last name, and rolling the R's just the way you typed it.

Nate Colbert, Clarence (not yet Cito) Gaston, Ivan Murell, Ollie Brown, Fred Kendall, Clay Kirby et al. Bad team that used to beat the Big Red Machine fairly often.

RIP elevenEnzo

When I was a kid and we had the Tuesday-Saturday season pack at San Diego Stadium, I distinctly remember the announcer calling out, as the players ran out onto the field to take their positions, "Here are your Saaan Diego Padres!" and then a rapid fire rundown of all of the players besides the pitcher (hopefully Randy Jones,) so fast that you could only recognize bits and pieces until the last player who was always "number 11 Enzo Herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnannndezzzzz!" It was so cool that sometimes even in pickup baseball on the street we might have chosen to be him just so we could say his name like that.

If I had known the lingo of scouting back then I would have agreed with the asessment "no bat, good glove, great name." Also, somewhere I have a program with his autograph on it. I hope he is at peace wherever he is now.
