Quote of the Day: Jeff Loria is “passed gas”

Jan 15, 2013, 2:00 PM EDT

Jeffrey Loria

Even when the Marlins owner supposedly issued orders for his underlings to stay mum these winter months, Loria hangs in the air at events like Monday’s like passed gas that just won’t pass away.

Dave Hyde of the Sun Sentinel, noting how the awful experience of the public funding Jeff Loria’s new ballpark for the Marlins is now creating headaches for the Miami Dolphins as they try to get the public to go in halfsies with them on renovations to their stadium.

Stinks for the Dolphins if what went down with the Marlins screws up their plans. But on the bright side, if Loria does nothing else in his life besides make it impossible for teams to get taxpayer-funded perks, he’s done at least one good deed, however unwittingly.

If Jeff Loria does any good deed, “unwittingly” can be assumed.

don’t mis-remember this dude owned the Expos when they got terminated.
so don’t be foolish, he has a bad track record.

      • drewsylvania - Jan 15, 2013 at 6:40 PM

Killing the Expos was not a “good deed”.

  2. phillyphannn83 - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:08 PM

I seriously had to read that 3 times before I could figure out what he was trying to say.

    • flosox - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:13 PM

Still not sure i understand it

      • Old Gator - Jan 15, 2013 at 6:30 PM

It’s obvious. He meant that Scrooge McLoria was broken wind.

      • badintent - Jan 16, 2013 at 12:22 AM

The Global Warming police will be on his ass ! Yup. Methane , cows, methane,Loria

      • Old Gator - Jan 16, 2013 at 10:45 AM

        Methane cometh from peeg shit.

  3. qcubed3 - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:12 PM

“Even when the Marlins owner supposedly issued orders for his underlings to stay mum these winter months…”, ahh, Loria went with the classic ‘silent but deadly’. Everybody hates that one.

    • cur68 - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:38 PM

Indeed. With that in mind I think one knowledgeable in the ways of editing wikipedia should edit this list on flatus composition to read:
      Nitrogen – 20% – 90%
      Hydrogen – 0% – 50%
      Carbon Dioxide – 10% – 30%
      Oxygen – 0% – 10%
      Methane – 0% – 10%
      Jeff Loria -50% – 90%

Fart jokes are funny no matter what age you are.

    • Old Gator - Jan 15, 2013 at 3:43 PM

Pull my finger, why don’t you?

  5. canehouse - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:19 PM

Loria is “crop dusting” all of South Florida with his stank.

  6. deathmonkey41 - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:32 PM

Maybe Loria should go to Paris Hilton for philosophical advice.

    • badintent - Jan 16, 2013 at 12:24 AM

      Or Lindsey Lohan

  7. mybrunoblog - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:36 PM

Loria has become a leper. It is tough to envision many scenarios where this team gets turned around and Loria becomes the hero down there in Miami.

    • DJ MC - Jan 15, 2013 at 3:35 PM

It would have to involve apparitions representing different periods of time, don’t you think? Or at least a seemingly-real ride through an incinerating coffin?

  8. bobwsc - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:37 PM

looks like he’s ripping one in that picture.

  9. Francisco (FC) - Jan 15, 2013 at 2:53 PM

So Loria is an old fart. Literally.

  10. djjackson81 - Jan 15, 2013 at 3:30 PM

Buy ans sold the state into his new stadium then turns around a drops Duece on the fans

  11. Old Gator - Jan 15, 2013 at 4:23 PM

Craig’s intelligence comes from the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel today, instead of from the Macondo Feeshwrapper. This is in part because the Feeshwrapper has recently begun charging a buck to read its online edition, or seventy bucks for an annual gas pass. Is Craig going to pay that? Heh, not unless at least half of it is covered by bed taxes. Clark Spencer, it’s been good to know ya.

How’s the Python Hunt going. ? 600 hunters, 25K snakes, 50 K gators. I got my $$ on finding Hoffa

      • Old Gator - Jan 16, 2013 at 10:46 AM

No statistics yet. And Feesh and Wildlife estimates something closer to a hundred thousand pythons, each female capable of laying 80-90 eggs every year. No predators after about five feet. Do the math. Walk your dog with a shotgun handy.

      • badintent - Jan 16, 2013 at 5:56 PM

Roger that. But I got upgrade to Bushmaster on the shotgun. Put my NRA sticker on it too
I’m thinking we can harvest the eggs to provide better school breakfasts for inner city children.1 snake egg =3 chicken eggs..
