Best Shape of His Life stuff is a clear sign that we’re in the offseason, but an actual harbinger of spring is this kind of thing:
Interviewed Youkilis on Tues. He will revamp stance in 2013. Hands will be lower, legs will be wider apart and he’ll be in more of crouch.

Youkilis showed me the new stance. It’s different, but he still has his top hand off the bat as he readies to swing. Like I said, think 2008

Soon we will see more and more stories about pitchers tweaking their mechanics and stuff, and then you know that spring training is just around the corner.

Down here it really just goes from Summer to Spring; when the cold fronts come through and drop the temp to 75 you know its almost time!
Plus I just paid the bill for my Jet Blue Park season tix! Woo Hoo! I’m pretty much nonexistent at work during the month of March.

I’ve found that the more time I’m on vacation from work the less chance I have of getting fired.

1) Have goofy looking stance
2) First move during pitcher’s release is to return to normal adult baseball player stance
3) Feel silly

I have tried explaining this to my eight year old nephew a thousand times. When he plays, he tries imitating players batting stances. Have tried telling him it does not really matter how a hitter stands, they all basically get into the same position to start their swing.

What’s the over/under on when a photo of an equipment bag on a field appears for the first time?
