There is a mountain of evidence that shows the number of wins a team gets has very little correlation to the number of saves the team’s closer’s will have. You merely got called out for throwing crap on the wall that did not stick. I will let you use Google to do your own research to figure it out. Wilson has many other stats that indicate to any novice baseball fan that he was not beyond overrated. Once again I will let you Google them. If you want respond with a real debate fine. If you merely want to troll and throw crap on the wall I will simply ignore you.

saves as a stat is “beyond over-rated” . People using save totals as an indicator of talent are “beyond over rated”. Put Wilson on the Astros instead of the Giants during that 4 year stretch and he doesnt come close to 163.

Even if the mets were impressed they have to potentially negoitate a contract. No way they should not take this stance if they think they can lowball him and make him think they are doing him a favor. Not saying thats is what is happening here but good chance it may be and if they are the potential is to pick up a good bull pen arm for an incentive laden contract.

Wilson might be the most annoying, transparent, loathsome athelete that’s ever played any sport. How anyone wasn’t tired of his Judah Friedlander on acid schtick a few weeks after he started playing this character is beyond me. I’m sure he’s more worried about losing his celebrity status and endorsement deals than actually playing baseball again.

To say Wilson is “beyond over-rated” is preposterous. He had a 4 year stretch from 2008-2011 where I am pretty sure he had more saves than any other closer in the league. He had 163, Mariano Rivera had 160.

Not saying he is not a clown. But give the guy a little credit for his resume.

That being said I think he is out of his mind with what he perceives to be his current market value.

Everybody knows that closer’s not named Mariano Rivera generally have a short shelf life and get kicked to the curb. I hope Wilson can get back to the player he was but the second Tommy John makes me wonder.

Think of how many closer’s the past 20 years had a couple seasons with huge save totals and then dropped off the face of the earth so to speak.

Like someone else mentioned I think Wilson just signs a one year deal someplace. Hopefully for him he can build his arm strength back up and regain his old form. If he does that some team will open up the bank for him.

Personally, I find Taco Bell as appetizing as I do roadkill, but the idea of B. Wilson’s nasty beard anywhere near questionable food products was enough to give us both stomach aches. So perhaps I should have said he saved us calories and possibly from food poisoning, too.

Waiting may best serve him since hes likely getting a 1 year deal regardless. If he waits, is stronger and better, he can come in and help a team and use that for his next contract.
