Read it last night during pointy-ball. Excellent article. But, never underestimate the nastiness that went on in Congress prior to the current era…

I’ve never been to Cooperstown, so I don’t know the exact set up. Is it a museum (in which case you have to have “exhibits” for Pete Rose and other major baseball figures) or is it a Hall of Honor? Or both?

At least in Congress those guys are voted into the office and, while they may be misguided, they do have a constituency to answer to when the time comes to be reelected. These baseball writers answer to NO ONE. They can do whatever the hell they want, whenever the hell they want, for whatever reason they want and nobody can, or more importantly WILL, do a damn thing to them. Vote for no one? Go ahead…we won’t say anything to you. Vote for Aaron Sele, Shawn Green, and Steve Finley? Sure, why not? It’s a complete joke and nothing will change until these writer are somehow held accountable for their ballots.
