Many Major League pitchers have come and gone, but there was only one Sandy Koufax. What a pity he had to retire at age 30. If he could have pitched as long as Nolan Ryan, imagine the numbers he might have put up!

I trust your information about Koufax more than anyone. You must've known he was practically unhittable with a repertoire of fastballs. There's been nobody like him since, not even guys who juiced like Clemens. I was very young when he retired but I know him and Don Drysdale formed one of the best 1-2 punches ever. The Dodgers need a boost, especially with the Giants one of the premier teams in baseball.

That explains a lot. It was just too obvious a move not to have been made decades ago.

I can see the Post headline:

" Koufax is Gay! Not That There Is Anything Wrong With That!" :-)

He had been a special adviser to the Dodgers since he retired so its not 50 years too late. What happened is that in February of 2003 when Fox owned the Dodgers their New York Post published an article which accused Koufax of being Gay. He took offense to the article and quit. Though the Post posted an apology and retracted the story he vowed not to be involve with the Dodgers as long as Fox owed them. Flash forward to McCourt and Koufax knew the slimey lying hack this guy was, he accepted to participate in Dodger events but was never offered a job by the hack.
