Wait, Bobby Crosby? The guy who hasn’t played since 2010 and wasn’t all that good when he played? Yup, that’s him:
#Brewers sign IF Bobby Crosby to minor-league contract w spring-training invite. Deal worth $800K if he makes club w $450K in incentives.

He’s got to be considered a long shot to make the team. In his last big league action he hit .220/.294/.298 with one home run in 168 at-bats between the Pirates and Diamondbacks. Still, with a minor league deal he’s basically risk-free for the Brewers and could provide some depth if he makes the club.

Could’ve saved some money and signed Delmon for less

Delmon Young can’t even pretend to play the outfield well.
I would pay for a ticket to watch a team put Delmon Young at short for a game or two, though. That in itself would be worth the price of admission.

So why are you shocked at a risk free signing that doesnt hurt the Brewers at all? Maybe the guy makes a comeback. If not, oh well, no loss whatsoever.

This is the token “gritty veteran” that Doug Melvin signs every year (Gabe Kapler, Mark Kotsay, etc.)

Um, what? Bobby Crosby? Ooookay, I forgot how bare the farm system is @SS. Still, “really” glad we sent Hardy to MN for Gomez. Gomez coming off a career yr, he’ll flop. Hardy will give you 20-25 homers and hit .260 a year. Oh well, pitchers and catchers report in 3 weeks…

Do you ever have anything good to say?

Segura will be a solid SS and he is in your farm system. I wish the Angels hadn’t traded him for 2 months of Greinke.

They’d be better off signing Stills, Nash, and Young.
