I would say pujols should have 3-4 good years left before he hits the skids but sure AM already knew that was a possibility before he signed him

I’m glad he’s staying. we will need him at some point this year due to injuries. Why pay his salary to not have him play for us. He will be a valuable bench warmer if nothing else..

Which is so funny, because Moreno has already admitted he was wrong to ever promote Tony Reagins. You know, by firing him after he tried to dismantle the Angels.

This is one thing I try to remember at all times; that money already spent is ALREADY SPENT, and it shouldn’t have too much of an impact on future money. I don’t know how a rich, smart, successful businessman like Moreno can’t understand that.

Reagins made the deal but Arte was the one who signed off on it. He didn’t just walk into Arte’s office one day and say “Oh by the way I traded for this guy named Vernon Wells the other day and he sorta makes 20+ million a year was that cool?”

Arte promised fans to make a big move in the offseason and after they lost out on Crawford and everybody else he panicked and wanting to save face it led to the Wells deal.

As far as the topic on hand it all depends on what substantial is. If substantial is all but teams wanting him to eat the entire contract then you might as well keep him as a 4th outfielder and occasional DH.

Well time for honk to chime in. Tony Reagins was the Gm that made that historic deal. If i remember right, everyone was wondering when the angels were going to pull off some big trade or sign some big name but Reagins waited to long and all the big time guys were already taken. In order to try to save face he comes up with Wells. Everybody in So Cal never heard of him. He had decent stats but to trade away Nap n sign the guy for that kind of coin was just unbelievable. And when we 1st saw this guy you could tell he was gonna be a bust. Terrible swing. Man we couldnt believe the Angels made this deal. Well of course Reagins fell on his sword and resigned before he got fired. How he got the Gm job in the first place will never know. Think hes selling cars now. Anyway Arte is hoping he can at least hit 20 dongs in a part time role and he can fill in if one of our outielder gets hurt. To many $ to eat this yr but bet your ass hes gone nxt yr. Probably go down as the worst deal in Angels history if not MLB history. Thank god for Jerry Dipoto that wont happen again.

If I were Arte, I’d definitely pay someone else to take him. I feel like the Phillies could use another albatross. Better yet pay his entire salary and just ship him to the Marlins.
