Chris Sale is bulking up

Jan 25, 2013, 5:00 PM EDT

In the days leading up to spring training you will hear a lot of stories about bulky guys losing weight or trying to get more flexible and a lot of stories about skinny guys bulking up. Yesterday there was a story about Dan Uggla that filled the former slot. This is the latter:

This doesn’t get a BSOHL because Sale is still a baby and that dude is going to be in the Best Shape of His Life no matter what he does. Really, you don’t start breaking down and feeling awful until you’re pushing 30.

God, I feel old.

      I’m pushing 37, but feeling oh-so-57. :(

Nah, you just feel 37ish, it just feels worse than you thought it would. If you don’t believe me, just wait until you are 57 and wishing you felt like you do now.

At 6’6″ and 168 lbs., I’m surprised he didn’t “Sale” away in the Chicago wind.

Sale is a stud! He’s got nothing but success ahead.

Representing my alma matter, FGCU! Go Eagles!

They rode that stud very hard last season. There was a huge increase in the number of innings he pitched. Often, an increase in workload of that magnitude leads to injury of ineffectiveness the following season.

Hoping not…more weight, good throwing program, should be good to go!
