John Lackey is in The Best Shape of His Life, Part Two

Jan 26, 2013, 3:07 PM EDT

We heard the other day that John Lackey may very well be in The Best Shape of His Life.  Now we have greater confirmation!

Really, though. What would it take for John Lackey to be in The Best Shape of His Life? Is that really saying anything dramatic?

Will the “best shape of his life” translate into him “pitching any better then he has”? Probably not.

Maybe we should make a new category called “Best Shape of his Career”

It would take removing the take-out menus from the Red Sox clubhouse along with passing a resolution prohibiting cheap, canned beer.

He’s in the best shape his life. For eating chicken wings, drinking beer and playing Xbox.

I don’t care how much he is in shape or not. I only worry about that miserable look he always has on his face. Because you know, he’s a …………bulldog!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrr. either that or he’s just a miserable asshole. Nah. He’s a ………bulldog!!!!!!!

      Wrong, he’s a drunk.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Last year was the best shape he has been in during his Red Sox career.

The only way I won’t recognize John Lackey is if he is getting people out.

      mojo…. as usual, perfectly stated.

I’m in shape, too. Of course, round is a shape. This guy is the Red Sox money pit. Without Dice-K around to deflect the animosity,John woulda been tarred and feathered long ago.

I sincerely hope he is comeback player of the year. But I’m not getting my hopes up.

I’m willing to bet that the Lackey signing is not on Boy Wonder Theo’s highlight reel.

Does that mean Lackey switched to Light Beer? Quite a fella.
