Gotta agree, here. The predictions for this guy coming in to last season were for pretty dire results but he showed that he was worth the over wrought montage and the lauding of his skillz. Grit by the truckloads and the intelligence to adapt his game as needed. Not JUST athletic. I’m looking forward to his 2013 season. He should be better than last season.

Cespedes plays with grit,hustle and heart. His head stays in the game and he is fundamentally sound. Defensively and on the base paths. I have been impressed by few young players as much as I have this guy. Cano,Upton Bros.Beckett and all the rest of the slack ass non gritty players should be made to watch this guy prepare and play. He also has a great amount of natural talent and athleticism.As have many great gritty players over the years. Trying to lay the blame for noticing someones lack of GAF on racism is bullshit of the highest order. Some guys play to get paid and some guys play cause it is a great and fun game to play(and they get paid for it as a bonus.)The difference is clear. Best of luck to Yoenis Cespedes this year and every year.

Had no idea this was going on late last season. If he played that well with this on his mind, there’s hope that he has a lot of upside left.
