Bench is the last guy who’d do anything to restore Rose to MLB’s good graces. He hates Pete’s guts, for a variety of on-field and off-field reasons. I’ve met Bench several times over the years (a nice guy), and when the name “Rose” comes up, he says, “Don’t get me started”.

I doubt that Morgan would do much for Pete, either. He used to be one of Pete’s biggest public champions, but I think he got blindsided when Pete finally told the truth.

Perez? He might do it. Tony is one of the greatest guys you’ll ever meet. He tends to think the best of everyone.

He’s managed to piss away the money he’s made, and baseball is the only way for him to make “enough” money.

Personally, unless baseball chooses very, very poorly when it picks the next commissioner, I think Pete’ll die before he’s readmitted. And justifiably so.

Didn't like Life. I wanted to, but it was sad. No one should spend 65 years in jail for nothing and I couldn't shake that no matter how funny those two guys were. Dumb & Dumber though? It was great. No matter what happened to Harry & Lloyd, they never changed; no matter who tried to victimize them the two of them always came out on top. That and the whole script was hilarious without relying on embarrassing the boys. In fact it was the other characters getting embarrassed while the lads just carried on being blissfully stupid. I loved the cosmic justice of it.

It’s funny how MLB got this one right. Pete Rose is an addicted gambler who will do ANYTHING to get that next fix.

Think about it, would a severe gambling addict do something like bet AGAINST his own team? Why yes, yes he would. And Pete Rose did!!!

Yep, saw the same thing w/ Mickey Mantle at the MGM back in ’98. I was killing time waiting for my friends wedding to start & I look over & see Mick all by himself and nobody was there by his table. Poor guy. I immediately knew who this guy was and I start chatting Yankee baseball w/ him. IT was awesome.Great guy, during & after his career. Too bad the liver didn’t hold up. I didn’t need his autograph. (my personal thing is I don’t pay for those things) I will always remember our conversation. So same thing w/ Pete. Yeah he messed up so forgive him already & let him in the HOF.

Are we not a merciful society? Pete Rose has already humiliate himself enough on National television. He has admitted his gambling addiction. How much more grief should a man take? Pete Rose is the ALL TIME hits leader. Give Charlie Hustle a break. Banning Pete Rose from baseball forever does NOT help the game. Maybe, Johnny Bench can reach out to Bud Selig and the HOF committee?

I’m somewhere in the middle–all the autographs I have we’re obtained in person, even if I had to pay a bit. I can’t foresee a situation where I’m in the locker room with Bibby Orr, so why not pay a bit to meet him? Same with Feller– I could pay a bit, or I could never meet him. Easy choice for the right price. I also assume my only chance to say hi to Musial and get his autograph would have been at a session, if he held them.

As a kid growing up my dad used to tell me to play ball like Pete Rose they call him “Charlie Hustle” always hustling. Seeing Pete and the way charges huge $ for autographs and the reality show bs the nickname still applys ” Charlie Hustle” always hustling. That being said still should be in the Hall of Fame.

Pete never anything to me so I can’t say he deserves to be in a bad spot if he is in one.
I do feel bad for the fact he isn’t recognized for his accomplishments in baseball which
he did before his ban from baseball. I hope Pete is happy in his life even if the HOF
doesn’t happen for him.

2 bad 4 U. I would. Pete is the unquestioned Hit King. He belongs in the Hall, and I would most certainly support Pete being allowed back in baseball. He made a big mistake, but he never tanked his own team or bet against them. It isn’t like he took PEDs, like a f*cking HUGE amount of players in MLB – THOSE are the schmucks that should be out of baseball. All Hail The Hit King, Pete Rose!

I’ve seen that in person too.
My favorite Pete Rose experience though was the day before Super Bowl XLII in 2008 I was in Vegas, and I decided to make some bets on the game, and Pete was at the same counter as me making his bets.
