Thanks ican, said that yesterday. If Headley continues to put up the numbers the first half this year that he did second half last year, would get greatly if Quentin can stay vertical also, then they’ll get a deal done. These are just headlines, nothing else going on here. If numbers are not quite parallel to last year’s then they’ll trade high hoping Gyorko will pick up any slack and get a haul in return. Just a wait and see game.

They have Jed Gyorko who will make his MLB debut this year at 2nd even though he is naturally a 3rd baseman. I think the Padres strategy is to see if Headley can repeat some of the success, see how Gyorko handles MLB pitching and then decide what to do based on those results.

Like the Yankees. I heard their third baseman was retiring/going into exile on Elba

I believe certain NY media segments would prefer if he were exiled to Saint Helena. After all, it’s too easy to come back from Elba.
