It reminds me of Jose Bautista getting passed around in 2004. This is certainly different, but in retrospect it’s not hard to see why everyone wanted Bautista, and it’s also not hard to see why he was passed up so many times.

For the record, I’m not predicting that Canzler becomes Bautista. Just saying that he is clearly wanted.

So the Rays give him 3 @ bats and he has an RBI, and yet the stinky Indians continue playing the likes of Damon, Kotchman, Hafner. He had 93 @ bats with the Indians and managed to outperform more than half of the Indians statistically. Dude is a home run machine, and a team will know how this will play out when they finally give him a chance.

If I recall correctly, Canzler was the early fave to be the back up for several positions. I know Nunez is considered the backup at SS only now. I actually heard a serious suggestion that hafner be Texiera’s back up, but who would back up Youk or Cano? Is Nix still around?
