He’s not only useless, but his once high draft status will cause the team to call him up some time during the season instead of someone deserving. Every team does it. They rely on someone’s failed lofty predictions rather than the evidence at hand.

That draft is probably not far from the norm. Baseball scouting, drafting and development is an inexact science. Primary reason baseball draft seems to have more high picks miss is they are drafting high school players as well as college players. NFL is drafting only from college and even the underclassmen are (with very rare exceptions) at least 20 and about done growing physically.
