Sounds to me more that he was using OJ as an example of another man found innocent. The comparison was made just to illustrate that many guilty people walk free, even murderers. All Goose wants is for the cheaters to come clean, and just because they haven’t been convicted, does not mean they didn’t cheat. HELLO BRAUN/RODGERS.

Yes, omaha, Simpson was found not guilty in his criminal trial, then a different jury found him liable for the two victims’ wrongful deaths in a civil trial. He has since been convicted of other crimes and is currently taking his meals in a Nevada prison, but his appeals are ongoing.

I say as long as the stats for the “cheaters” are officially on the book, they should get in to the HOF. If they are not eligible then take the RUNS, HR’s, RBI’s, WINS and ERA’s off the record books. But it doesn’t make sense to officially validate their accomplishments on one hand and then disqualify them for cheating on the other.

I missed the part where he compared PED users to double murderers.I am sure it is because no where in the article does he do so. He does make the statement that an acquittal is not necessarily proof of innocence.He uses OJ Simpson as an example of some one who was acquitted of a heinous crime,while being seen by many as blatantly guilty.So an acquittal for Clemens proves little (to him). As far as idiotic statements go,the repeated attempt to equate amphetamines use with steroid use takes the cake. I am unaware of any discernible performance enhancement which equates with the obliteration of baseballs record book and an alteration in how the game was played,managed or viewed that quite clearly resulted from the widespread use of steroids.

As a follow up let me also say that i assume that Goose has some information which he probably ought to have shared with the police and the prosecution in Simpson’s case. He states categorically that OJ killed two persons! The jury in the criminal trial after hearing all the evidence available were not satisfied that he did. In the civil trial where it the standard was less the jury found that he probably did it. It appears however that Goose is among those who are certain that he did it! But then it seems that proof is no longer necessary as accusation = Guilt these days.

Why is it that Gossage has such a hardon for Clemens? Goose was borderline at best as a Hall candidate and in my view should not have made it into the hall even if he did not take PEDS and we cannot be sure that he did not. Clemens on the other hand whether he took PEDS or not was clearly Hall worthy. So this is a subject Goose may want to stay quiet on.

Your making some sense, but I believe OJ was aquited, and is in the Football Hall of Fame. Clements (who I think belongs no doubt) isn`t in his sports hall of fame. Even though he was aquited of lying to Congress, the facts are just that.

This guy’s mouth is diarrhea; it pours out a smelly mess that no one likes, comes out whether you want it to or not, and there is nothing you can really do to repair the situation once its over.
