The As were fine with either one because whichever choice the Sox made was going to be wrong.

It’s just Kalish’s bad luck he’s the one doomed to suffer injury after injury and eventually be traded for a third basemen who 3 years prior hit 23 HRs (And OPSing in the 600s since) in the midst of the Sox thinking they can jump 3 teams and really make a run at the wild card and with 9 left to play against whoever is leading the division by 7 a legitimate shot at taking the AL East.
