No chance Boras strikes a pre-FA deal. He’s praying Wieters puts up a .280/.375/.500 season worth 6-7 wins and tries to parlay that into a Joe Mauer contract, even though he’s about three batting titles, a few gold gloves and an MVP away from justifying that.

He’s under team control for many years & plays C,,,I love Wiets but there really should be no hurry. If he’s willing to have the team buy out his arb years & maybe tack on a year or two that would be great. But C is a rigorous position…lets see how things play out

I hate the fact that Boras is his agent. I love Wieters but honestly he doesn’t deserve anything in the vicinity of $100 mil which is indubitably what that joker will push for. Even so I say you have to give him what he wants. His offense is getting better every season and his defense and pitch calling is top notch. Even though he may not be that offensive force like everyone was expecting, he more than makes up for it in those other departments. Hope they lock him up for a long time.
