But they wouldn’t only have Bourn for a “lost” 2013 season. He would still be on the team while they are competing in 2 years…. The pick would be nice, but they also need a major league player in the OF. It’s terrible right now. Bourn also makes them a strong team up the middle, with D’arnoud, Tejada, Murphy, and Bourn.

Sign one more outfielder sounds good, but who? All that’s left is Bourn, Abreu, Damon, Podsednick, and Sizemore. You don’t want to give up your #1 draft pick just to get Bourn for what will be a lost 2013 season either with or without him, and the other guys are just as lousy as what they’ve got already.

Yeah, they’d be on to 4th place. Without Bourn, they still might be on to 4th place anyway. Is increasing your chance of finishing 4th worth giving up your first round draft pick?

I just wish they would sign one more outfielder. I am not all gloom and doom about the Tepid Trio of Citi Field but when even Sandy admits it’s a problem, I wonder when he will try to do something about it.

With adding feliciano, Hawkins, and Lyon if they add a closer with the pieces they already have, they have the possibility of a real solid bullpen. Already a definite upgrade from last season. Sign Bourn, and with their infield and SP’s they already have and coming (wheeler) they could be on to something. Quietly but surely. In sandy we trust. Lets to Mets.

That would be funny if either De Niro or Pacino was of Corsican descent. Pacino’s parents were both of Sicilian descent; De Niro’s father’s family is from Campobasso province, on the Adriatic Sea (his mother was Irish).

Maybe one of them could overact being Corsican?

Having seen both Francisco and Lyon pitch for the Jays in the last 2 seasons, the Mets should go with Lyon. He is much better than Francisco.
