It’s amazing, George Mitchell (a politician) spends 7million dollars and only finds steroids in New York. Shilling tells truth regardless of people’s opinions. Mitchell is revered and Shilling is ridiculed. Proof positive Red Sox fans are the biggest douschbag’s on the planet.

I believe every word he says. The Red Sox, for years, have been doing things wrong and unethical with medical problems. When the team owner is a doctor there is going to be problems and that’s exactly what happened in the past with the organization. Players are worthless when they are hurt and the owners that are paying them want them on the field.

For what kind of baseball job would you hire him?
◊ Color man/analyst? That would be a disaster. He would babble incessantly.
◊ A Special Assistant to. . . type position? Those jobs generally have public speaking components. Would you want Schilling to make an after dinner speech at a fundraiser for, say, The Jimmy Fund? It might be fun in a train wreck kind of way if you were attending such an event, but he would likely be an embarrassment to the organization.
◊ Minor league pitching coach/roving instructor? Maybe he’d be good at this, maybe not. The pay is lousy and you’re away from your family for half of the year, unless it’s with the Lowell Spinners or something. DelawarePhilliesFan points out below that he was not well liked in the clubhouse which works against him.

Canseco has been getting regular work as an Indy league player/manager/coach. Presumably he is just there as a draw; the Worcester Tornadoes need all the help they can get as they draw about 1,200 per game. He signed a contract with a Mexican League team last off-season, but didn’t make it through spring training. The rumor was that he refused a drug test and walked away. I find it entirely plausible that Canseco didn’t know that the LMB tests and that he wouldn’t pass.

I cannot imagine how much Schilling has spent on medical bills. He has to undergo surgery to have his foot removed from his mouth everytime he talks plus he’s had to have multiple surgeries to transform himself back into a semi-human being after making an ass out of himself on myriad occasions.
