Im interpreting this sentence as he is saying the Nationals are more interested in Vazquez because of the Miami raid controversy surrounding Gio. But I think if you replace his name with Roy Halladay, and replaced PED’s with “shoulder problem”, you would see this is a very mundane article. The type you see all the time discussing a team’s thoguht process in the “what-if” scenarios they encounter. No one is suggesting Halladay is going to be injured, no one is suggesting Gonzalez is guilty.

You dont think that statement clearly insinuates he is a prospective PED user. I sure do. And im sure most of his readers think he is implying that as well. And its wrong.

Look, bottom line is teams need contiengency plans all the time for any number of reasons. It would be irresponsible for the Nats NOT to have a contingency plan in place. This does not mean they think he will be suspended, this does not mean that they would agree with a potential suspension. It means they are prepared in case.

There are no links to Gio and PEDs. His name is mentioned as a prospective client but there is absolutely zero evidence he is linked to PEDs. The Nationals interest in Vaquez was even before that story broke. Does Nick Cafardo know how to do research before he writes anything?
