The other angle is, they have to have the biggest marketing budget because they’re going to have to work five times as hard as the next-worst team in terms of attendance in order to be only twice as empty.

So, we have money for advertising but not players. Interesting strategy, maybe they’ll start ads like ” Come see x/y/z team come to town!”. I love ads like that, let’s you know even the franchise knows they’re gonna sucketh.

Given how much other nonsense went down with the Feesh last season, we hardly even noticed Krazy Karlos. He was erratic – news, that – but quiet. After bad days on the mound, he merely promised to work harder and do better next time. I think they had him on Prozac (or maybe some Jimmythemarlinsfan optimism distillate, or JMFOD) all season. Or maybe Tommy intimidated him. We’ll probably never know.

Speaking of the Feesh, in an eenterview on Sunday – the day after a dozen and a half fans mobbed Macondo Banana Massacre field for Winter Warmup to buy single game-day tickets and dump their spawn down the inflatable slides, the Chihuahua pooh-poohed all those fair weather fans (as if he expected any other kind in south Florida) who criticised the shrinkage of the Piscid payroll, noting “We’ve got the biggest marketning budget we’ve ever had this year.”

He isn’t worth the headache. You should be able to find a prospect that has a chance to post an ERA between 4.5-5.0, at a cheaper price, and with fewer headaches. As to Japan or Taiwan, why would they want him? I don’t know that they would put up with his BS over there. Although I don’t know much about their baseball, in general Japan seems kind of formal and wouldn’t put up with a bunch of outbursts.
