When you’re a failed mega-prospect, an at best marginal major league player, and you’re going to have to do well in spring training to make the roster of possibly the worst team in MLB, you tend to listen to management’s “suggestions”.

I dont like the injury risk. And the whole country vs country thing works in soccer – but I just don’t see it in baseball.

Absolutely. Baseball is very much baseball. Which is precisely why I watch little league, high school, small college, big college and MLB. So no…I am not going to draw the line at the WBC. Cause’ again…baseball is baseball.

Why does everyone hate on the WBC? Sure, players and MLB teams don’t want to risk injuries. But as a fan? Baseball is baseball, dude. Anything beats a spring training game.
