If there ever was a poster boy for PED Uggla is it. Add him to the list of former bulked up guys now slimming down coincidentally after stricter testing is implemented. You will see numbers fall across the board for most of these guys.

True. He's what Ralph Kiner would have called a "swing hard in case you hit it" kinda guy. I built a Gilbert Erector Set robot when I was a kid (back then you actually had to take parts out of a box and then you had to put them together yourself) with better mechanics than his.

Re-read that Hamilton story, it’s more of Craig doing what he loves, bashing other writers for suspecting someone is on PEDs. I get tired of his posts like that, but I think it’s pretty clear you’re looking for a reason to hate here. He certainly didn’t give me the impression he was ok with people calling out Hamilton for PEDs. Your hatred for the braves (and Craig’s hatred for the phillies) has you looking for reasons to bash

Um..Illia...you do realize that Hamilton has been struggling with substance abuse most of his adult life, right? That he's been falling off and climbing back onto the wagon ever since he put on his first professional uniform, and even prior to that? And that Uggla has no, repeat no, repeat no track record of abuse of anything except maybe his at-bats? Meanwhile, reading your hyperventilated prose is a bit like watching someone go cold turkey in a padded room. Take a deep breath. Relax. And find some other dead mule to flog.

Niether has Josh Hamilton’s yet that didnt stop Craig from writing a story titled ” Does Josh Hamilton’s wight loss tell you something….” N it basically says he’s not on PED’s anymore. So thats why he lost the weight. So why doesn’t Uggla who is a total meathead get the same treatment? Or Why doesn’t Uggla get bashed like he bashed Howard for his lack of hitting…. Cause he’s a hypocrite homer n his Braves do no harm and are all perfect all-stars not worthy of criticizm.

I agree with Uggla but I’ll help him out. He’s in the best shape of his life when he’s hitting .220, mashing bombs, and striking out every at bat.

Makes some sense: He got huge, and that didn’t work, so he is trying a slimmer physique this season. I can recall the stories (but unfortunately no the names) of other guys who said their performance suffered from too much muscle bulk.

Honostly, i dont think Ugly has anything wrong with his physical make up to play this game at a high level. If you watch him, it seems clearl to me, that when he struggles its all mental. He loses his plate discipline and his focus.
