Marlon Byrd was suspended 50 games for a performance-enhancing drug last season and is now trying to make the Mets on a minor-league deal. Today he met the media:
Byrd on his 50-game suspension for banned substance: “I think you have to be an idiot to test positive and I was one of those idiots.” #mets

So is he an idiot because he used drugs or is he an idiot because everyone is doing drugs but only the idiots are getting caught? Certainly sounds like he is saying the latter.

Didn’t we already have the Quote of the Day today (Luccino and the “scrappy” Red Sox) or does each blotter on the site get one?

why is it that they always talk about being dumb for testing positive? shouldnt he say he was an idiot for doing them in the first place? not just that he got caught
