There is a difference in postseason games and having prior experience with that type of pressure and media scrutiny can be helpful. However, Hensley did not throw in the playoffs so it doesn’t apply here.

Don’t hold your breath. There will be no next commissioner, as Zombie Bud Selig will be in office until the end of time. California will have fallen into the sea by then, thereby resolving (in a sense) the A’s territorial rights.

He did everything necessary to retire all 27 batters. It just is not currently officially recognized as a perfect game due to an error by the umpire on what should have been the final play of the game, followed by a questionable decision by a Mr Selig (not his first such). Perhaps the next commissioner will right the wrong.
