Joe Maddon just wants his players to “look hot”

Feb 18, 2013, 3:15 PM EDT

Retro Rays Joe Maddon

Joe Maddon has often put together “themes” for how the Rays should dress during road trips.

For instance, last season the team did themes like “nerd” and “minimalist” and “wigs” and “all white” and “plaid jackets.” You get the idea.

So what does he have in store for this year’s road trips? Nothing. He’s ditching the themes idea in favor of …

If you think you look hot that’s how you should dress.

Also known as the “dress hot” theme.

    Joe, you look sexy!

That reminds me of those Padre uniforms that looked like a Taco, hideous!

Come on now, give the Taco Threads their due. That uniform was awesomely hideous.

Then you’re in luck (or maybe not). Those are fake throwback uniforms the Rays will wear one game and that uniform is the result of guessing what the Rays would have looked like in the 1970s.

Well, then they should not wear THAT!

Would you prefer Sosa’s ochre sweater?

      • historiophiliac - Feb 18, 2013 at 4:43 PM

Not everyone can wear The Ochre Sweater, now. It takes a special and confident man.

      • indaburg - Feb 18, 2013 at 5:02 PM

I think Maddon has that kind of confidence.

        Homer. he he

We can only hope they don’t start going with that NBA look Russell Westbrook is sporting these days

Ditch those World’s Most Effective Method of Birth Control glasses, Joe.

I have yet to use them as a contraceptive – but they work pretty good for getting some

The 70’s called and even THEY don’t want those POS uniforms back.

  7. irishdodger - Feb 18, 2013 at 9:57 PM

It’s like someone combined the Padres & Brewers unis from the 80s

  8. 4d3fect - Feb 18, 2013 at 11:05 PM

    Are you wearing THAT???
