On a personal level and selfish level, he’s my FAVORITE current Met, and I would be devastated if he is traded, but also because he is a GREAT prospect for the Met’s future. He plays with all of his heart and soul and is a great team player giving his 110+ percent in all he does.
In addition, his playful personality is contagious and he is a great moral booster for the team. If Justin was in the daily line-up he would definitely prove that he is a bright young star. The Met’s need to stick with him and give him a chance! Please don’t let Justin be another player that the Mets let slip away before he becomes a huge superstar!

The Mets signed Marlon Byrd and several potentially useful relievers to minor league/NRI deals. Some of these are likely to make the team. Turner is near the bottom of the Mets’ 40 roster, so they will likely have to pass him through waivers to free a roster spot. Alderson wants more than the $25k waiver price, so he’s just saying, “If you call, I will listen.” Are there teams for which he be an upgrade for a backup/depth infielder? The first names that came to mind were Emmanuel Burriss (No, already outrighted, refused, and has an NRI with the Reds) and Jason Smith (Long gone), but surely some team might give them something of potential value in a trade.
