Indiana…born and bred.
Deep Fried Pork Tenderloins…Deep Fried Blue Gill…Corn and Sugar Cream Pie.
So yeah…Indiana isn’t known for the healthiest eating habits either. Hahahaha!

Most importantly…I was NOT bashing the sandwich or the States eating habits.
I was really just cracking on the the Cheese Whiz specifically.
But I will try anything. If I am ever in the area I am down with it.

God your such a snob Craig. I dont see how you could find anything wrong with that tweet. The guy said the Phillies are aggressively pursuing Stanton. After he heard it being talked about on WIP. He didnt say the Phillies were on the verge of acquiring Stanton. He didnt even say they had a good chance at getting him. He actually said in tweets immediately following that one that it wasnt coming from him that he heard if from anthony gargano on wip (basically the exact same thing you do in every post) and that he didnt think their chances were good.

But hey that’s what you do pick out 1 part of what someone says criticize it, and then feed it to your readers who will parrot your criticisms because they are to lazy to see if your even being accurate.

Let me hop in on this one. I have no negatives on the Phils. Houston and Phillie had a nice, clean rivalry for many years. But the Phans here have a curious combination of optimism and self-criticism that makes them a lot of fun to troll. Hell, they spend half their time trolling themselves.

Combine that with Craig being a Braves fan, and he just can’t resist.

Look all Phillies fans would love to get Stanton in a Phillies uniform. It won’t be happening. Yes Loria has crapped all over the fans but even he has his limits. When he becomes a free agent the Phillies will be one of a number of teams anxiously waiting in line.

Except, of course, it isn’t just Craig. The Phillies simply do not have the assets to trade for a player like Stanton. They used to have a strong system, and they traded it all away…and the more recently drafted guys haven’t developed as hoped (not surprising considering that they have drafted tools-heavy). If you asked every GM to rank the teams based on assets available that could net Stanton, Philly would be at or near the bottom of every single list.

So, let’s say Halladay and Howard:

That means the Phillies would get Stanton and, if they’re paying 95% of their salary, would effectively be paying him $43 million dollars.

The Marlins get Halladay and Howard, paying them $2.5 million, (nearly $2 million more than Stanton is set to make this year) whose collective WAR was much, much lower than Stanton’s.

Impossibly enough, you have managed to concoct a scenario which would be the worst trade in baseball history *for both teams*. I applaud you sir.

Domonic Brown is absolutely NOT considered a highly thought of prospect anymore.

He’s 25…awfully long in the tooth for a highly thought after prospect. Especially one with a .703 OPS in nearly 500 PAs and two straight not-so-hot AAA seasons.
