Cardinals prospect Shelby Miller has a sore shoulder

Cardinals right-hander Shelby Miller, who yesterday was named MLB’s sixth-best prospect by Baseball America, was scratched from his throwing session today due to shoulder soreness.

Manager Mike Matheny told Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com that the Cardinals “are not too concerned” and called the move “more preventative right now.”

Miller made his big-league debut in September with 14 very impressive innings and is in the mix to replace Kyle Lohse in the Cardinals’ rotation
