In other FL news, Kimbrel hit a hole-in-one yesterday.

        HBT misses nothing….shoulda known.

  2. heyblueyoustink - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:39 PM

Well Craig, since you’re a member and all, let us know if the article was any good when you get your copy of the AARP mag! :-)

  3. number42is1 - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:40 PM

Craig – when do the Gym bag pictures begin?

    • Craig Calcaterra - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:41 PM

I fly to Arizona a week from today. Equipment bag pics begin the next morning.

  4. stlouis1baseball - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:45 PM

Bwahahaha! Philly fans…you are on the clock. I anxiously await your rebuttals, name calling and general hatred of Craig’s trolling. But please at least admit this shit is funny.

    • rickhigginshtbro - Feb 20, 2013 at 2:28 PM

really cant since it was our hometown reporter…. unless Craig hacked into his account… yea, doubtful.

    • dennisund - Feb 20, 2013 at 2:59 PM

It is pretty funny. We’re like that family that busts on each other nonstop, but as soon as an outsider does it, the record scratches as the music stops, and things get real. Since it was a local reporter, we find it funny. Only we can bemoan Ryan Howard’s contract! It sounds silly when I see it in print, but that’s just how it is.

      • paperlions - Feb 20, 2013 at 3:31 PM

I completely understand….in truth, the contract really only negatively affects the Phillies (assuming Howard doesn’t discover the fountain of youth) and at this point Phans either know it was a bad deal or have a strong suspicion of it that they are actively denying….so anyone else bitching about it feels like they are piling on.

  5. Francisco (FC) - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:50 PM

Hey, it’s quite obvious the magazine thinks Charlie Manuel is due for a bio.

  6. illcomm - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:50 PM

Phils r 5th oldest team. dodgers first and st Louis 7th. I did find the comment about Craig’s AARP membership to be funny. wonder if the hair club for men gives Craig a discount for being am AARP member.

    • stlouis1baseball - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:57 PM

“wonder if the hair club for men gives Craig a discount for being am AARP member.”

Hahaha! That’s the spirit. Well played.

    • chew1985 - Feb 20, 2013 at 1:43 PM

This is the 30th anniversary of the Philles’ 1983 Wheeze Kids–they won the pennant!!!!

      Yeah baby.

Somebody find Tony Perez and hand him a bat.

  7. mdpickles - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:51 PM

Last year at Braves camp when Chipper announced his retirement and subsequently tore his meniscus, the County coroner was called in.

  8. Caught Looking - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:53 PM

AARP is a little slow and was just told Jamie Moyer hasn’t been with the Phillies since the 2010 season.

  9. mojosmagic - Feb 20, 2013 at 12:54 PM

If you weren’t so pathetic Craigala you would be funny.

  10. Darkoestrada - Feb 20, 2013 at 1:02 PM

They’re just reminiscing with Cole Hamels about old school baseball

  11. indaburg - Feb 20, 2013 at 1:20 PM

AARP at Phillies camp in Clearwater. Trolling Phillies fans and Florida at the same time. Well done, Craig.

    • historiophiliac - Feb 20, 2013 at 2:37 PM

BTW, are you going to go see the Tigres at all? You know, you could check out what an MVP looks like in person. ;)

      • indaburg - Feb 20, 2013 at 2:41 PM

You mean that guy who lacks leadership skills? I want to see a leader!

I’m thinking of going to Lakeland on Friday. I’ve checked out the Jays and the Phightins this spring. No AARP crew, sadly, when I went–I would have definitely taken a picture.

      • stlouis1baseball - Feb 20, 2013 at 4:31 PM

Look…I said I like Brautwurst. Like it a lot.
I am sorry I offended your precious meatloaf making sensibilities.
Wow. I just used precious and meatloaf in the same sentence.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 20, 2013 at 4:41 PM

I was just yanking your chain. I like meatloaf but it’s not that big of a deal. I was just teasing.

      • stlouis1baseball - Feb 20, 2013 at 4:43 PM

Hahaha! That’s a whole lot of meatloaf conversation over the last couple of days.
        I mean…A. BUNCH.

      • Utley's Hair - Feb 20, 2013 at 5:31 PM

        Meat Loaf?

  12. dwdive - Feb 20, 2013 at 1:34 PM

I can’t wait for the season to start. I love the fact that this team is been over-looked and discarded as a 3rd place team already. I’m not saying that this team is built for the long run, but this is the last season these guys are all together. There are a lot of players in the last yr of their contracts or a 1 yr deal. The team will look very different next season, but for now, I’m going to sit back and enjoy this last run by these guys! They will surprise some people this yr, and in a good way

  13. Utley's Hair - Feb 20, 2013 at 5:27 PM

They had their turn signal on long enough that they had to turn in somewhere—just so happens to be the Phightins Phield.
