Well if you went thru it like you claim then you should know it depends on what your level is, a guy who blows .012 isnt getting the same punishment as a guy who blows .025 AND you would also know that the 500 fine is just the tip of the iceberg as there isnt just one fine involved its a series of costs that come at different times. Get your facts straight!!

my court / lawyer fees for mine when i received my first and only ( will never happen again ) was around 4500.. + 2 years of Driver Responsibly fees + 120 hours of community service + going to some bullshit AA meetings..and i was never in trouble with the law.

not really complaining tho, i think it should be like 14,000 if you’re caught drinking and driving… whomever goes out drinking should have in their minds how to get home without driving.. i learned the hard way, but i see no reason not to up the charges.

no license suspension? thats crazy. in NJ the punishment end to end sets you back about 12k. with lawyer fees, fines, dmv surcharges and insurance rates

No but given that his offense put regular people at risk…F’ him. He got off very easy. I have no sympathy for people that drink and drive….He even plays for my favorite team and I hope he goes on to have a great career with the NYY (if he ever makes it back and lives up to his previous potential). Still F’him for D&D.
