Alberto Callaspo is NOT in The Best Shape of His Life

Feb 26, 2013, 1:13 PM EDT

For every 100 players who report to spring training in The Best Shape Of His Life one guy has to show up in sweatpants with Cheetos stains on them (or the equivalent). That’s the rule and Alberto Callaspo of the Angels was merely following it:

Callaspo is listed at 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds, so that must be a helluva diet if he showed up to spring training 20 pounds heavy and has already lost most of it.

20 lbs heavier… Hmm, where have I heard similar storylines on here?

Hamilton shows up 25 Lbs lighter, and Trouts Dad says he eats 6 burgers for lunch, and shows up 40 lbs heavier than last year.

Sounds like eating disorders in the Orange County. Albert looks a lot bigger as well, and I am sure that’s helping the knee issues. You would also think 4 months after minor surgery there would not still be major issues.
