You say 2 straight years of getting spanked? He may not have had the win totals in 2011but last I looked, an ERA around 2.75 and 200 plus strikeouts is pretty damn good.

Beyond signing a desperate free agent or making some trade, the Giants have no choice but to start Timmy Jim. They literally have no other competent pitcher who could handle starting a few games. In hindsight, it’s kind of a miracle that it never became an issue last year.

i’m not a giants fan, but i feel horrible for the kid. he has been an absolutely amazing talent through this point in his career, and it’s WAY WAY WAY too early to say he’s done, but i think what’s happening to him is exactly what a lot of people predicted early on: with his extremely slight frame and unorthodox mechanics, eventually his body was going to start to break down and he was going to lose what it was that had fans referring to him as the “freak”. i hope i’m wrong. i’m a phillies’ fan, and recent playoff series give me a great reason to despise the giants, but you never want to see someone of his talent start to lose it this early, whether he plays for your team, or your rival. here’s to hoping he gets it back, and we can watch him light it up for another 5-6 years

you also cant have him go out there and gets lit up for 5+ runs every game. Doesnt matter if its your high paid ace or your “Joe Blanton-esque” 5th guy in the rotation

Something is seriously wrong with timmy. I would like someone to pinpoint why his velocity is down/why his command is struggling. He used to be dynamite on the mound

Okay, he’s having a tough spell, but you don’t make a guy like that a reliever.
