Hi Craig, that’s so awesome that you’re on the low carb regimen. My boyfriend and I started it a couple months ago and it’s so much better for both of us. We both needed to lose ~ 20 lb each and we are almost there. And when we reach our goals, we will stick with the low carb regimen. It’s so much better for us … we feel the difference and we love it. Don’t know anything about this paleowhatever. No doubt, what you describe would pass muster with most reputable doctors and nutritionists. I’ve been doing it lately to lose weight and better deal with diabetes. Don’t have a fancy name for it; Ben has a good, simple term — eating right.

Lost 60 lbs in 6 months last year and have kept it off for another 6 months. Diet modification only (no grains, potatoes, rice, corn or processed sugar) without any additional exercise beyond my stay-at-home dad duties. Exercise is the next step. (320 down to 255 so far. Looking to lose another 25-30.) And I would never have mentioned it if it hadn’t been so successful and easy to do.

Any long-term studies that back up our current “government approved” diet heavy in grains, sugars, salt and processed foods? Didn’t think so. Am I hard-core Paleo? No. All I know is that the human body functions better on those foods they recommend, based on my experience and the testimonials of literally everyone who has tried it.

While we seem to agree on a couple of points, your cleaving to bread pudding is an unconscionable waste of eating. Nature will select against you. Why? Well, (lights pipe, dusts chalk of lapels, polishes and replaces monocle, assumes smug tone and superior air...) The creatures known as are truly a small and deluded segment of the dessert landscape. More to be pitied than mocked, they will be easily out competed by the more robust Australopithecus cake-us who also prey on the relatively spineless and gracile Australopithecus pie-us. They will be little more than a footnote in the fossil history of the Dessert Archaeology.
